Possibly the worst book ever.

This is probably the worst book I've ever read. I thought I would learn about the history of the Religious Police and their aims and objectives but unfortunately not. This book is a select case study of people who worked in Saudi Arabia and knowingly broke the country's laws related to alcohol, fornication, pornography and the practicing of other religions. The author seems to hold the laws of the country in contempt and is completely biased in his writing. In almost every case he sides with the accused and refuses to accept the Religious Polices' version of events.
This isn't to say that the Saudi Religious Police are perfect but any author could easily write about the abuses of power in Western Countries i.e. I could easily take case studies of police brutality in the US and write a book against the police force, it would however be completely bias.
The book's foreword also starts in a disappointing manner as the author mentions, "The stories have been dramatised to hold the interest of readers".
The author ends by writing about his personal law breaking, such as returning home after drinking at embassy parties and "Whenever I watched a Bollywood film or a blue film in the drawing room of my dark apartment in the Hara area of Riyadh.."
Well, you knew the laws of the Kingdom. If you didn't wish to abide by them you should stayed at home or gone elsewhere.
I advise everyone not to waste their money buying this book. I would give it 0 stars but unfortunately Amazon won't let me.
